In our discussion titled "Global Distilleries - Where is Rum Made?" we will traverse the world from the Caribbean to South America, and beyond, uncovering the unique characteristics and traditions of each rum-producing region. Learn about the distinct methods and ingredients that give rise to a wide variety of rum styles and flavors. This event is perfect for rum enthusiasts eager to expand their knowledge and taste profiles from distilleries around the globe.

Adrienne will discuss every part of rum production from sugar, molasses, sourcing & trade, fermentation techniques, styles per country, distillation, aging, barrel types and more! She will also share some fun facts about the production teams in Barbados and Jamaica and the cultures of rum throughout.

Plantation 2008 Panama

ABV: 45.7%
Type: Gold rum
Region: Panama

A 2008 vintage rum from Plantation's Under The Sea collection, distilled in Panama and matured in the tropical climate in ex-bourbon barrels for 12 years, before being transported to France where it underwent a further year of ageing in ex-Ferrand Cognac casks before being bottled in 2021.

Aromas of peaches, red berries, orange peel, nutmeg, white pepper, lemongrass and custard fill the nose, complemented by notes of honeycomb, red apple, hazelnuts, toffee, chocolate and cigar box throughout the palate.
